UNICDA and INAFOCAM celebrate the closing of the first cohort of the Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

The Universidad Domínico Americano (UNICDA), in collaboration with the National Institute for Teacher Training and Development (INAFOCAM), held the closing ceremony for the first cohort of the Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, a postgraduate program aimed at strengthening the pedagogical and professional competencies of Dominican educators.

This first cohort consisted of 25 professionals, 12 of whom completed the master’s program with INAFOCAM’s sponsorship. The program was directed at technicians, coordinators, and English teachers from Regional 03 of the Ministry of Education (MINERD), corresponding to the Southern region of the country.

During their academic training, participants developed fundamental competencies for teaching practice, including the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), strengthening their oral and written communication skills in English, as well as the design and implementation of educational programs for teaching English as a foreign language.

The completion of this program represents progress in preparing professionals capable of responding to the current challenges of language teaching, incorporating technological tools into their educational practices, and contributing to the strengthening of learning processes.
With this initiative, UNICDA reaffirms its commitment to training highly qualified professionals and to developing academic proposals that contribute to raising the quality of education in the Dominican Republic.

Likewise, the university recognizes the value of interinstitutional collaboration with INAFOCAM to promote postgraduate training opportunities aimed at teaching staff and to foster the continuous development of those responsible for educating new generations.

The closing of this first cohort marks a milestone in the professional development of its participants and reaffirms the importance of continuing to invest in teacher specialization as a tool for the educational transformation of the country.
