The Alumni Unit, known as UNICDA ALUMNI, has the mission of establishing and strengthening permanent ties between the university and its graduates, in addition to promoting a solid network of collaboration among the graduates themselves.

Its main objective is to foster a strong sense of identity and belonging to the university community among graduates of the various academic programs at UNICDA. This is achieved through academic, scientific, and socio-cultural activities that not only enrich the graduates' experience but also keep the connection with their alma mater alive.

Moreover, through the UNICDA Conecta platform, it actively works on identifying job opportunities, providing graduates with access to a job board, and collaborating with various companies to facilitate the professional growth of its community. It also focuses on recognizing and evaluating the professional trajectory of graduates, using this data to establish quality indicators that drive the continuous improvement of programs and services offered by UNICDA.

 
General Objective:
  • To establish a permanent and two-way relationship between the university and its graduates.
Specific Objectives:
  • To foster a sense of belonging and university integration through academic and sociocultural activities, thus maintaining a permanent bond.
  • To promote conferences, courses, virtual forums, workshops, and diplomas to generate an exchange of experiences among the graduates.
  • To define the benefits and participation and follow-up scenarios for UNICDA graduates.

José Abreu es un profesional en gestión empresarial con más de 15 años de experiencia en desarrollo de negocios, construcción de relaciones y gestión de proyectos en diversas industrias en Chile, República Dominicana, El Salvador, Guatemala y Estados Unidos. Obtuvo una licenciatura en administración de empresas de la Universidad Domínico Americano (UNICDA), graduándose con los más altos honores. Cuenta con un Diplomado en gestión de innovación por la Universidad de Chile. Ha ocupado cargos de especialista y analista de mercadeo, Gerente de Producto, Gerente Comercial y Coordinador General en organizaciones como Abbott Laboratories, ORIFLAME, Natura Cosmetics, AIESEC, entre otros.

José se unió a Eastern Bank en 2017, comenzó en banca consumidor y luego pasó al equipo de banca comercial, donde ahora apoya a pequeñas empresas en los estados de Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island y Maine en los Estados Unidos. Dirige Equity Alliance for Business, un programa que ayuda a empresarios de color y empresas propiedad de mujeres con recursos y préstamos. Sus destacadas contribuciones le han valido el Premio de la Oficina del Presidente del Eastern Bank en varias ocasiones.

Dentro de Eastern Bank, José es un miembro activo de varios grupos de recursos para empleados, que apoyan a las comunidades LGBTQIA+, jóvenes profesionales, latinos y personas con discapacidades. También asesora a propietarios de pequeñas empresas y forma parte de la Junta de Asesores de Emprendimiento para Todos en el valle del Merrimack y la ciudad de Lynn en Massachusetts. Además, es miembro de la junta directiva de Daydreaming Organization, una organización sin fines de lucro con el objetivo de ayudar a niños y niñas en riesgo en la región de Nueva Inglaterra y la República Dominicana. También es parte de la Junta Directiva de la Asociación de Latinos Profesionales por América, ALPFA y su capítulo en Boston, donde es director de membresía. José también participa en Business Networking International en el sur de Boston y es miembro de la Junta de Egresados de AIESEC International, una organización dedicada a promover oportunidades de liderazgo y pasantías profesionales para jóvenes universitarios y recién graduados. Le apasiona ayudar a las pequeñas empresas a mejorar sus planes estratégicos y operaciones.

Recientemente, la organización Amplify Latinx, lo reconoció como uno de los homenajeados en la selección de sus premios ALX100 - 2024, un reconocimiento que honra a 100 líderes latinos en todo en el Estado de Massachusetts, esta lista incluye algunos de los latinos más brillantes, arriesgados, disruptivos y defensores abiertos de entre todos los sectores e industrias quienes están impactados el futuro desde hoy.
